Teaching
Teaching for me is a passion. It provides me with an opportunity to be a part of someone else’s success story. My earliest memory of teaching are from when I was in middle school. I remember spending countless hours working with my neighborhood and school friends, helping them understand concepts from mathematics and science. Joining the professoriate has allowed me to convert my passion into my profession. As a teacher, I also get to be a lifelong student, whereby I’m able to nurture my desire for intellectual stimulation and curiosity.
My formal training in teaching started when I joined Syracuse University Graduate School’s Teaching Fellow program. This multi-year program provided me with mentoring from seasoned teaching scholars, access to teaching seminars and programming, and honest feedback on my pedagogy. I also earned a Certificate in University Teaching through my participation in this program. I am ever grateful to my teachers, mentors, colleagues, and students whose help and feedback made me the teacher I am today.
In my courses, I challenge my students through rigorous curriculum that demands intensive engagement. My goal in teaching is to help students develop their own critical thinking and problem solving skills. We live in an era where access to information has become increasingly abundant. I want my students to develop the skill of identifying relevant information and making intelligent use of it in their personal and professional lives.
Prior to stepping into my full-time administrative role, I taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. Currently, I teach exclusively in our MBA programs.
