I am looking for 1 new graduate student who wants to start in my lab the fall 2026 to do research on xylem and phloem coordination in leaves.
Funding for Teaching Assistantship available (possible Research Assistantship).
Preference for applicants with a background in botany, physiology, ecology and/or microscopy. Additional options sometimes available for students interested in citizen science.
If you are interested in applying, please email me, Dr. Jessica Savage, jsavage@d.umn.edu. Students will be part of the Integrated Bioscience program at the University of Minnesota, Duluth (https://scse.d.umn.edu/integrated-biosciences).
There are many ways to become involved in my lab (e.g. paid technician, volunteering, independent study, UROPs etc.). Please check out information on undergraduate research opportunities using the Biology Department's website.
I generally expect students to commit at least 6 hours a week to working in the lab, if they join my lab group.
Our research involves a combination of lab, microscopy and field work. Everyone involved in the lab is also invited to join our weekly lab meetings.
Please email me if you are interested in getting some research experience.
