Meet the Facilitator:
Jody Tracy
Jody Tracy is the Operations and Strategic Initiatives Lead for the Office of Professional and Clinical Affairs in the College of Pharmacy. She is a member of the affinity group as well as serving as a facilitator. In addition to her role at the College, Jody is trained as a massage therapist and enjoys reading and outdoor activities in her spare time.Â
Group accomplishments:
Convened the first Disability Affinity Group in the College of Pharmacy, with our first meeting on February 25, 2020, and have met regularly since then.
Provided recommendations and concerns to College leadership, both regarding accessibility in the PharmD program in general, and specific issues regarding the transition to remote learning related to COVID-19 closures and changes.
Ongoing meetings with College leadership and Disability Resource Center representatives to go over member concerns and propose/work through solutions.
Working on improving representation for disabled students in the course planning and oversight process, and providing references and expertise for pedagogic best practices in general, particularly concerning working with those with disabilities but also with student populations in general.
