About
The college's Commitment:
Commit to goals that all are welcome and are supported
Provide space, technology, and food for meetings
Train Allies to support the work of Affinity Groups
Engage in discussions regarding challenges its members face and collaborate on solutions
Respond to group requests as soon as possible and resolve group requests within a reasonable timeline
Maintain connection with and support for Affinity Groups
Affinity group ground rules:
Express and expect mutual respect; listen and speak from the heart.
Confidentiality: remember that what is being said here is meant only for this room, among these people; maintain confidentiality of whom is present. The group will determine whether or not notes can be shared with others in the affinity group who were not able to be present.
Members take responsibility for generating recommendations of the group.
Group members now are limited to those aligned with this identity. The group can extend membership to include allies if they so choose.
Facilitators are present in order to ensure conversation stays on track and to ensure notes are taken in a way that they are viewable to all, and archived for future reference.
Opportunity for each group to create additional rules.
