About

The college's Commitment:

  • Commit to goals that all are welcome and are supported

  • Provide space, technology, and food for meetings

  • Train Allies to support the work of Affinity Groups

  • Engage in discussions regarding challenges its members face and collaborate on solutions

  • Respond to group requests as soon as possible and resolve group requests within a reasonable timeline

  • Maintain connection with and support for Affinity Groups

Affinity group ground rules:

  • Express and expect mutual respect; listen and speak from the heart.

  • Confidentiality: remember that what is being said here is meant only for this room, among these people; maintain confidentiality of whom is present. The group will determine whether or not notes can be shared with others in the affinity group who were not able to be present.

  • Members take responsibility for generating recommendations of the group.

  • Group members now are limited to those aligned with this identity. The group can extend membership to include allies if they so choose.

  • Facilitators are present in order to ensure conversation stays on track and to ensure notes are taken in a way that they are viewable to all, and archived for future reference.

  • Opportunity for each group to create additional rules.
