Family Welcome Center Literacy Zone

Harlem Literacy Zone/Family Welcome Center 

 

Literacy Zones are a statewide reform initiative funded   by the New York State Education Department to close   the achievement gap in communities characterized by significant poverty and that have high concentrations      of families and individuals with limited literacy or English language proficiency. 

The Harlem Literacy Zone/Welcome Center focuses   on providing adult learners from around the world, skills, knowledge and support services needed for economic self-sufficiency through the areas of health education, financial empowerment, parent education, job readiness, career development and immigration services.
