Shwmae. Miss Jackson ydw I. I am the class teacher of Dosbarth 6. I am looking forward to a fun filled school year, helping your children to learn and grow! Outside of school I enjoy keeping busy by exercising, running and spending time with my family and friends.

Shwmae! Miss Pike ydw I. I am looking forward to moving up to Year 1 with the class and continuing to help them learn and grow. Outside of school I enjoy being a dog Mum to my two puppies and taking them on trips to the beach.
Class Information:
P.E will be held on a Thursday. Weather permitting, our PE session will take place outside. Please ensure your child wears their P.E kit to school.
Reading books will be given out every Tuesday and to be returned on the following Tuesday. Please comment on how your child has read in their reading log.
Homework will be given every Friday and will need to be returned by the following Friday. Children can access their homework via Google classroom.
Please ensure appropriate clothing is worn to school to suit the weather as we participate in daily outdoor learning.
Please ensure water bottles are brought in daily, labelled and filled with water only.
Children are encouraged to bring a fruit or vegetable to school daily for their morning snack.
Please clearly label all belongings.

Inspire Maths - Spring Term
This term we will be learning:
Shapes and pattern in our environment as well as within number, shape, size and colour.
Ordinal numbers and having fun learning these through PE practical sessions - 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.
Recognising numbers to 20.
Reading and writing numbers to 20.
Addition and subtraction within 20.
Explore part-whole concept.
Maths homework will be set fortnightly with the focus of the skill that we cover in class.
Talk for writing
This term our story is The Magic Porridge Pot. Every day we practise learning parts of the story using a text map and physical actions developed by our class. Every day we build on our knowledge of the story by learning the next sentence and over the term each individual becomes more confident at retelling the story orally.
"Children who are read to at home, or who come from an oral tradition of storytelling, embed such patterns without really knowing it, as if some form of linguistic osmosis was at work. At this early stage, it is significant that the child is ‘hearing’ the language. This matters because we learn language by hearing it and then by saying it. So, storytelling and rhyme chanting are powerful aspects of acquiring language patterns that might not be met in everyday talk." Pie Corbett 2008.
