Important Days
PE will take place on a Monday afternoon. Please send your child in our school PE kit and outdoor shoes.
Reading books will be changed and given out on any day once read. Please listen to your child read regularly and write a comment in their journal so we know they have been listened too. If you feel your child is ready to move up a level, please write a note and we will listen to them in class and re-assess.
Homework will be sent out via Google Classroom every Friday. We will no longer issue weekly spelling tests and Spelling Shed will be utilised daily in class. If you need your childs log in for Classroom please let me know.
Our topic for Spring term is, 'Raid, Stayed, Invade'.
This will be a great learning opportunity for our pupils to learn through the area of Humanities, Expressive Art and STEM.
Following the new curriculum , we are excited to embrace the new 'Four Purposes' and confident individuals who contribute creatively. We have planned our lessons around 'big ideas' and key principles in each area of learning and are ready to deliver a broad and balanced education!
Our key concepts for this term are : Conflict, Fear and Democracy.
We are excited to learn lots about the Romans and how their lives compared to ours today. We will study Pompeii and the volcano Mount Vesuvius. Through expressive arts we will explore Roman pottery and mosaics. We will look at the impact the Romans had on Wales and how the invasion developed. Through the story of ‘Escape from Pompeii’ we will explore diary writing and write an Explanation text on how to be a Roman Soldier.

Helo, Mrs Neale ydw i.
This is my 14th year of teaching at Cyfarthfa Park Primary School and I absolutely love it! I have taught in our Infants Department and Juniors and love both phases!
I am very fortunate to work in our wonderful school. We have such brilliant pupils who are a joy to help on their journey of exploration and discovery.
My favourite subjects to teach are ICT, English and Art. I love being creative and will always find way to inject fun into our learning!
Outside of school I love spending time with my beautiful children and husband. They are my pride and joy and I love being with them as much as I can.
I enjoy nothing more than exploring the countryside, eating tasty food and a good book. I love music and always dance around the kitchen with my family. My favourite place to visit is West Wales. I have family who live there and like to visit as often as possible to catch up and enjoy walks on the beach. There's nothing better than the sea air whatever the weather!
Shwmae, Mr Butterfield ydw i.
I have worked at Cyfarthfa Park Primary since September 2021 and I absolutely love it. Outside of school I love playing football and rugby, but my favourite hobby is spending time with my little girl Rosie! We love going for walks on the beach and trips to the library, she is a real book worm! The thing I like best about working in our school is how great we all work as a team and how we care about each other.
