GCSE PE is a theoretical and practical subject that develops your knowledge of physical activity and how the body’s systems work. This is a fantastic course for those with keen interest in sport, exercise and human performance. Participation in extracurricular clubs in and out of school is essential to support you to achieve your best in this subject. This subject has a strong link with biology.
You will be assessed practically as a performer in 3 different activities (40%):
1 INDIVIDUAL sport
1 TEAM sport
1 further INDIVIDUAL or TEAM sport
A written analysis of 1 performance
You will complete two exams at the end of the course (30% per paper):
The human body and movement in physical activity and sport
Socio-cultural influences and well-being in physical activity and sport
