GCSE Product Design involves developing practical skills and learning about a wide variety of materials and manufacturing techniques. The course is split into two equal areas: practical design and make assignments; and a theory exam in the summer term of Year 11.
The substantial design and make investigatory project will have the following format:
Identifying and investigating design possibilities
Producing a design brief and specification
Generating design ideas
Developing design ideas
Realising design ideas with practical outcomes
Analysing & evaluating
