Varietones
Varietones
Historically, Varietones was a ten student a cappella singing group made up of students from the 7th/8th grade chorus. During the pandemic this group ceased and was reinvented during the 2024-2025 School year.
Mrs. Berger, Choral Director, will hold auditions for any students interested in grades 5-8 in September. If students are selected to perform with the Varietones, participation in the grade level Vocal group is a requirement.
Rehearsals for Varietones begin on September 25th from 3:00-4:15 p.m. in the Music Room.
Auditions for Varietones will be held after school from 2:40-4:30 p.m. in ten minute slots. The sign up sheet is on the wall outside the double doors to the music room.
Auditions are on Sept. 8, 9, 11 and 12. If callbacks are needed they will take place during the week of Sept. 15-19.
Students should prepare one song to sing for Mrs. Berger. Choose a song that can showcase your vocal range. Songs from Musicals are encouraged. Students will sing a few warmups with Mrs. Berger and they will be asked to sing Happy Birthday to hear if they are able to maintain pitch throughout the entire song.
Rehearsals for Varietones are weekly on Thursdays from 3:00-4:15 p.m. The first rehearsal is Thursday, Sept. 25th. Please bring a list of other Thursday activities that you plan to participate in so we can craft a schedule to participate in both activities.
