Clever is a site that we use to help students with signing into the different learning systems we use at school. Oak House students use it to login with their CVSDVT google account (same one they use everyday at school), and from there can connect to other online learning systems like JumpRope, Google Classroom, and MathFactLab.
Jumprope is an online platform for assessment of the targets. Students can view weekly or biweekly his/her achievement on the targets by logging in using his/her email and a password. This password was emailed to each student at the beginning of the year. *Habits of Learning, like homework completion and collaborative learning skills will be posted on a biweekly schedule. This is where you CAN SEE whether your child is in good standing on daily assignments.
Google Classroom is an online planner platform where students can check on daily assignments. This is in lieu of a paper planner. Just ask your child to log in using their cvsdvt email and password. It is important to know that this is not an assessment database. We do not check completion of the assignment on this platform. However, we do ask that YOUR CHILD press the button MARK AS DONE when an assignment is completed. This will make it easy for you and your child to discuss completion of work.
*Please note that teachers are not using Google Classroom to report missing or late assignments; it is only used to post assignments and materials. Students are expected to “turn in” assignments on Google Classroom, but some assignments are pen and paper only and are turned in during class. Parents will be able to monitor work completion, class participation, and learning target scores using JumpRope, which will open at the end of September.
Students have an ongoing assignment as part of their math class to complete 3 lessons each week. Most students have time to complete these during the school day, but students with limited core time, or students who miss time during the week, may need to complete these assignments at home.
