Hello — I'm Mrs. DaBica!
I am thrilled to be teaching your child in second grade at Shelburne Community School this year. While this is my 14th year as an educator, it is my first full year at SCS. In 2025, I had the opportunity to serve as a long-term substitute teacher here, and I quickly fell in love with the students, staff, and families who make this community so special. I am excited to be back doing what I love most—helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
I graduated from Trinity College with a degree in Elementary Education and History and later earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Vermont. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating a classroom where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to take risks as learners. My goal is to support each child's academic, social, and emotional growth while fostering a love of learning.
A few things about me: I absolutely love picture books, read-alouds, math, and arts and crafts! Outside of school, I live in Bristol with my husband, Cris; our son, Francesco, and our two dogs, Gigi, a pit bull, and Moonbeam, a French bulldog. In my free time, I enjoy running a children's theater company, traveling to the Outer Banks and Lake Winnipesaukee, reading, and spending time with family and friends. My favorite place to be is at home on the couch, surrounded by the people I love.
I am looking forward to getting to know your child and partnering with your family throughout the year. Together, we will make this a wonderful year filled with learning, laughter, curiosity, and growth.
