The Swift House Sustainability Action Projects are founded on the belief that all students should be informed about the United Nations Goals for Sustainability and act on them. Students will become versed in issues relating to climate change and sustainability and the impacts that these will have on their economic, social, political, and geographical futures.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, students on Swift House students will have the opportunity to work through the SSAP badging program. Evidence from their successes (certificates, products and presentations, pictures, and video) will be posted to their committee sites. When students have completed a micro-badge or wish to present evidence of their achievement, they will reach out to an instructor for assessment of their work.
To become a SSAP Leader, students must complete three micro-badging programs: Climate Change, Sustainability, and Political Action.
Upon completion of these micro-badges, students will present evidence of their learning and be awarded the SSAP Climate Leader Certificate indicating their readiness to understand and address the environmental and social issues of the 21st century.
Each micro-badge has four parts: Educate, Act, Communicate and Connect.
