Amazing to think that I am starting my 7th year here on Sterling. I am really excited to have made the shift from math to ELA and Humanities! After 18 years teaching 3rd and 4th grade here at WCS, it has been a great change to join the world of Middle School and Literacy.
I began my work in the world of educating children after receiving a degree from St. Lawrence University outside of a classroom. I was teaching skiing and environmental education around the state to children from 5 years of age to 13. While leading trips and being on snow was a treat, the seasonal lifestyle was not for me. I had a short stint in a Waldorf inspired Kindergarten class and it was then I knew that I wanted to be in a classroom. I went back to UVM to get a teaching license for K-6 and was fortunate enough to get a job after finishing. A long-term substitute position in Addison County soon led to my position here! The rest is history.
When I'm not teaching I'm an unabashed father of two girls. We like to spend time on snow and adventuring around the area. I'm regularly earning my taxi license driving to swim meets and soccer games too. Music is a big part of my life, and I make a point of seeing live performances as much as possible. Festivals with the kids have become a regular event, and we are all slowly learning how to play instruments and sing. Someday we make the stage?
I am the Sterling House science teacher. I have been teaching on Sterling House for fifteen years, but I have been teaching for 19 years total. I love being creative and helping kids to develop their excitement for science.
I live in Williston with my husband and three kids; ages 20, 17, and almost 14. I enjoy being outside, traveling, soccer, gardening, skiing, sailing, and spending time with our three cats. My favorite things include coffee, chocolate, and a fine point writing pen.
I look forward to spending time with my students!
Hello! I'm the Sterling House Humanities teacher. I have been teaching on Sterling House for 15 years, in Williston Central School for 16 years and 20 years total! I enjoying empowering students to be change-makers and be real life problem-solvers.
I live in Essex with my wife and 2 daughters- Molly and Sophie; ages 16 and 10 (11 in November). My wife and I own a horse farm in Jericho, Vermont called Juniper Knoll Farm. I love working on projects around the house and at the farm, making maple syrup, traveling, and spending time with my family. I'm a passionate soccer fan; supporting a team in England (Hull City) and US National Teams. I always have music on too. We have 1 dog in our home, 2 cats, oh, and a few horses too!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am absolutely ecstatic to be your math teacher this year. I am a Saint Michael's College alumna, and hold degrees in both psychology and elementary education. I am passionate about teaching math through inquisition, problem-solving, and creativity. I am so excited to join the Sterling Team, and help empower students to be problem-solvers, innovators, and creators.
When I'm not in school, you'll find me skiing, reading, watching Boston sports or traveling.
Hello, and welcome to Sterling House! We are so excited you are a part of our team. I am the Special Educator on Sterling, so I get to work with a lot of different students and staff across the building, but mostly right here. I have been working in education for about 17 years. I earned a BA in English from SUNY Albany, in my hometown. I also attained two Masters Degrees from SUNYA: one in Special Education and Elementary Education, and one in Reading. In my journey as an educator, I have worked in classrooms from every grade from Kindergarten to 12th grade! My focus and passions in education are human development, social-emotional learning, reading, and mathematical thinking. When I'm not teaching, I'm out hiking with my two kids and my wife, or playing bluegrass music somewhere. If it's snowing, then I'm snowboarding!
2024-2025 Student Teachers
Hey y’all! I am excited to join the Sterling House team as a student teacher, and I will be here all year. I moved to the Green Mountains when I was twelve years old, I attended college in Burlington, and I am so happy to be getting my teaching license in Vermont!
I love museums, historical houses, and art galleries. I have just started weight lifting and love a good hike. I also love to cook (and eat) great food! I am so excited to get to know the Sterling students, and I hope y’all will show me the ropes!
