I began teaching in 1987 at Wheeler Elementary School in Burlington. After 2 years as a Chapter I Reading and Math teacher, I moved to Hinesburg and taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 4 years. In 1993 I joined the staff at WCS and began teaching 1st/2nd grade in Lighthouse prior to moving to ABS and forming the Vista team. Time marched on and school wide reconfiguration allowed me to teach on Synergy as a 1st and 2nd grade looping teacher and then 2 years as a kindergarten teacher. I am now in my 8th year as the K-8 Enrichment teacher for Williston Schools. I have so many reasons to absolutely love, love, love my job!
My passion for learning, creating and making has connected me with the maker movement and Burlington’s own Generator; a place where art, science, and technology converge. My fondness for technology has helped me to create an ever-growing Personal Learning Network where I am connected to educators, organizations, and professionals worldwide. It is truly an exciting time to be a teacher!
My husband Bill and I reside in Huntington and from time to time our two children, Sam and Alita, join us when they aren't off doing amazing things in the world. In my spare time I enjoy skiing on both snow and water, hiking throughout the green mountains and beyond, spending time with my extended family, gardening, creating primitive hooked rugs and all things fiber arts.
