This class focuses of the basic elements and principles of art. We will explore a variety of mediums and styles. In class we introduce drawing, painting, and mixed media. Art I allows for students to create confidence in the creative process. This class is intended to create the basic skills necessary to be successful in future art classes and is recommended before taking Drawing 1 or Painting 1.

Neurological drawings- Allow students to step away from the concept of making art that "looks good" and focus more on the process and meditative practice of creating an artwork using a single line scribble with the use of color and shape.
