Students in 1st-2nd listened to the Texas 2x2 book, Just One Flake, by Travis Jonker. After reading, students played a math game using addition and subtraction to help the main character reach the snowflake.
Students listened to the read-aloud Our Table. They then created a table with Legos that they would like to share with their friends and family.
Students created a class quilt to show how Ms. Cavazos' class is a family.

Students in K-2 celebrated National Winnie the Pooh Day by bringing stuffed animals to their library lessons. We read The Worst Teddy Ever!

This month, students will learn about author, R.L. Stine. We will celebrate his birthday, which is Oct. 8th, by learning about his life.
Students in Ms. Erdo's Class enjoyed spinning the wheel to win different prizes to celebrate R.L. Stine's Birthday!
This September, students are learning about author, Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl is known for many wonderful books such as The Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Enormous Crocodile, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and many more! This week Golden Tickets are hidden in books in the library. Those who find a ticket will receive a book by Roald Dahl to celebrate his birthday.
A student in Ms. Lyon's homeroom found another Golden Ticket and chose the book, The Witches, by Roald Dahl.
Students in Ms. Scroggins' 5th grade class listened to the book, Alma and How Got Her Name by Juana Martinez-Neal. The author is from Peru and uses her own experience with her name to write a book about a Peruvian girl, Alma, who doesn't like her long name. Will Alma change her mind as she learns how she got her name? Listen to the read aloud to find out.
Ms. Scroggins' students then participated in a makerspace where they celebrated their names and built them using Legos.
Three students in Ms. Davila's and Mr. Castro's homeroom found Golden Tickets and received a Roald Dahl book.
Students in Ms. Villerreal's class are dressed up to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
