Hello! My name is Jody Holzaepfel, and I am so excited to be your librarian this year. I have been a teacher for 18 years, and reading is my passion. I am excited to share many books, reading celebrations, and makerspace opportunities with you. I have been married for 29 years to my husband, Ryan, and I have one son, Grant, who works for the Chambers County Sheriff's Department. I also have 2 fur babies, Dewey, who is my pup, and Fudge, my cat.
I enjoy reading, watching movies, and hanging out with friends and family. My favorite books are the Pigeon series by Mo Willems and books by Patricia Polacco. Yes, children's books are my favorite to read!!!!
I can't wait to see you this year and get to know you and your family.
Each week students will visit the library. Students in grades K-1 will check out one book each week, and students in grades 2-5 will check out two books each week. Please help your child remember to bring their library books to and from school. If a student does not have books on their library day, they will not be allowed to check out new books until they return them.
clean hands = clean books
Hugging your book keeps you from dropping it.
When books are left on the floor, they can be stepped on or pets can mistake them for a chew toy.
Remember, your pages are made of paper and will tear if you are turning them roughly.
Remember to return your books each week to the library.
Holding your book with two hands help you turn the pages gently and keeps the book from falling.
Books and water do not go together. Keep your books out of the rain, bathtubs, and away from drinks.
Do not fold the pages of your book to mark your spot. If you need a bookmark, please come and ask for one in the library.
