Hindu Sunday School at CVHTS

Starting on the second-Sunday of September, Hindu Sunday School runs every Sunday until mid-May. School starts promptly at 10:45 am with a prayer assembly, yoga, followed by a guest speaker or student presentation, all until 11:30 am. From 11:30-12:30, classes occur throughout the hall where teachers creatively engage students with stories, fun activities (like arts and crafts, puzzles, and games), shlokas, and bhajans. We encourage students to join as young as possible, usually when they are 4 or 5, so they can have the full experience and be able to absorb as much as possible.

Our school focuses on building a strong cultural identity, instilling important values and morals, and cultivating leadership in each and every one of our students to take them far in life. Here, teachers don't just lecture for the full hour of class; they instead conduct interactive activities with lessons the kids can really comprehend and follow for the rest of their lives. After each lesson, the kids practice the concepts that they learned through multiple fun and enriching activities, like matching games or drawing tasks. HSS students are also able to participate in all of the festivals celebrated in the temple, volunteer there, and be a part of its community. We transform children into confident and cultured leaders who are ready to leave their mark on the world!
