Create a 3 dimensional model of a room in your home using cardboard and hot glue. Make sure to include any pieces of furniture and landmarks (doors, windows), and try to make everything to scale.
Using a small toy or figure to represent your child, play a game where he/she changes position in the room and move the toy to match the position!
Move the toy and challenge your child to find the same spot in the room!
Advanced: cut out colored paper to fit the footprint of each object in the 3D model. Create a 2-dimensional map and see if you can use it to navigate the room!
