FAQs

I was absent, what should I do?

If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the work.

  • If you are at home, you go to Google Classroom and check the calendar there for what you missed. There may be work you can do at home.
  • When you come back to school, check the absent folders for the day you were absent. Inside, you will find a While You Were Out Form that another student has filled out for you, along with any handouts you missed.
  • You will still receive full credit on assignments if you turn it in within a week of returning from your absence.
  • You are responsible for making up ALL work missed while you were absent. Please see me if you have questions about this.

Does Ms. Stickel accept late work?

Students can always turn in late work! You will lose points for each day that your work is late, so make the effort to turn it in as soon as possible. Turn in late work to the Inbox on Ms. Stickel's desk.

I don't like my grade, what can I do to improve it?

1. Review the work in your Student Notebook. Were some assignments incomplete? Did you lose points for not finishing something?

2. Request a Test Re-take. You must fill out the form in order to re-take a test or quiz. The form can be found on Google Classroom.

3. Do Extra Credit (see below).

Can I get extra credit?

  • Extra credit is available to all students.
  • It is available at different times throughout the year, and may range from an extra writing assignment, to watching a video, to reporting on a current event.
  • I do NOT give extra credit to students who ask me what they can do to raise their grade at the end of the quarter. WORK HARD, AND ALWAYS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EXTRA CREDIT WHENEVER IT IS GIVEN TO YOU!

What are the consequences for misbehaving?

  • Warning--> Reflection/Call Home --> Lunch Detention --> Referral
  • Students may receive consequences for being off-task, being disruptive or disrespectful, tardies, missing work, or inappropriate use of your phone during class.
  • Detentions will be at lunch in B-6 (we will decide which day works for both of us).

Can I access the textbook online?

  • Yes! We will go over how to access TCI online at the beginning of the year.
