About Me
Hello! 2022-23 brings me to my 13th year of teaching. I spent my first year teaching special education at Castro Valley High School. Then, I returned to Canyon Middle School, which has been my home since 2001 when I began working 2 hours a day as an Instructional Assistant in a Special Day Class for mild/moderate students.
I come to the teaching profession later in life after having raised my three children who are now young adults and pursuing their careers. I am the second of five children and I still see or talk to my parents several times a week.
Born and raised in Castro Valley, this is truly my home town. I hope to learn from, support and encourage students to always try their best and to reach their potential. I hope to share my experiences with my students and their families. I want everyone to know that it is never too late to return to school!
My educational background includes Chabot Elementary School, A.B. Morris Junior High School, Castro Valley High School, University of California at Berkeley, Strayer College, National Hispanic University and Alliant International University.
