Dear RHS Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year!
I’m excited to introduce myself as the new RHS counselor. I was born and raised in Paris, France, and have lived in the United States for over 30 years. My husband and I are proud parents of three adult children, and we now enjoy the company of five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren! In my free time, I love gardening and traveling.
I have worked in education for more than 25 years, and this is my eighth year as a counselor with Castro Valley Unified. I am honored to be part of the RHS community and look forward to supporting you throughout the year.
As your counselor, I am here to:
Support your academic journey (scheduling, graduation requirements, and college readiness)
Help you plan for life after high school (community college, four-year colleges, trade and vocational programs, military, and career exploration)
Support your social and emotional well-being, including referrals to our Wellness Center when needed
I will be reaching out to each of my students to:
Introduce myself
Review your academic plan and current progress
Discuss your goals for this school year and beyond
Share helpful resources to support your success
Students are always welcome to stop by my office in the morning, during lunch, or after school. You can also call me (510) 537-3193 ext 7559 or email me avancourt@cv.k12.ca.us to check in or schedule a meeting.
I look forward to working with you and your families and to making this school year a positive and successful one.
