Reflection on the Design Process

Reflection

Our goal by the end of the project is to have a sustainable, cost-effective design of a house that offers the comfort of a normal home while maintaining a smaller footprint. By using proper software, input from our stakeholders, and environmentally-conscientious methods of design, we can accomplish this goal.

Moving forward we could try to compete for grants in order to fund the building of this sustainable housing project. We would also like to generate more extensive data on how truly sustainable our design is compared to a regular single family home. Especially regarding the carbon footprint (would require more funding). Next we would like to do another round or market research to see if stakeholders like our design and if there are other methods that would make our design more sustainable.

Overall, our project was a success and our design is well on its way to accomplishing the goals we had in mind from the beginning. While there are obviously some areas where we can improve our project and its overall presentation, we consider what we have accomplished this year a success, and look forward to what is to come in the world of sustainable housing!
