Overview/ Goals
Welcome to 2020/21 Physical Education. Here at Canyon, our goal is to develop physically educated and physically fit students who will become committed to lifelong health and physical well-being. This is done in a fun and safe environment where ALL students can thrive. It is essential that students follow the teachers’ directions, respect others, and participate fully in all activities while considering safety at all times and using the equipment properly as directed.
Course Requirements
Scheduled Google Meets video conferences
Weekly Google Meets must be attended in order to receive full course credit. When meeting, make sure:
Your camera is on
Mute your mic until called on
Make sure your device is charged
Be fully dressed
Be respectful
Please contact your site administrator for any tech issues.
*Grading for remote learners
Attend both google meets within the first five minutes of class for attendance.
Turn in your Wednesday check-in.
Turn in your weekly playlist on the day that it is due.
*Grading for hybrid learners
Attend the google meet within the first five minutes of class for attendance.
Turn in you Wednesday check-in.
Participate to the best of your ability when attending class (wear attire you can move freely in).
P. E. Activities
This years PE program will be composed of Synchronous and Asynchronous fitness activities (2 days of each) as well as a weekly running activity on Wednesdays. In order to receive full course credit, Activities must be documented and verified by a parent/guardian on the provided Google Forms.
Grading
Video Conferences/Attendance = 50 %
PE Activities/Logs = 50%
A note is required from a medical Dr. if a student is unable to participate for more than 3 consecutive days. Students missing time can expect alternative assignments to make up for missing points.
