  • Students will decide on the class reward for each game
  • Assigned rug seats, flexible desk seats

Behavior Consequences

  • Break from the Be’s - review and return with parent signature
  • Student reflection and/or parent notification as needed

Responsible Use of Technology

District Technology Policy

  • Sent home at the start of the school year
  • In grades 3-5, “Student Responsible Use of Technology” states:

-I will use the technology at school for learning

-During school time, I will not use online games, videos, or interactive activities without my teacher’s permission.

Consequences

Student will have restricted use of instructional technology for a period of time and will only use technology in the classroom when it is critical to access the curriculum.

  • Technology Violation Notice will be sent home for a parent signature
  • Hand write assignments
  • Additional supervised access at home to complete assignments
  • May not use technology as a “May Do” activity
  • Alternate assignment during technology-related class activities

Homework Policy

  • Frequency: Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday and is due the following day, unless otherwise specified. Students will write homework assignments in their agendas daily. It is their responsibility to copy homework from the whiteboard daily. Please check your student’s agenda to monitor and support. All students would greatly benefit from structured homework time.
  • Homework Time: According to the school's homework policy, fourth grade homework should not continuously exceed 40 minutes per day. For CLIP students, this breaks down to approximately 20 minutes from each teacher. On the other hand, if you would like to request extra practice for your child in a particular subject, please reach out to the teacher.
  • Missing/Incomplete Homework: Due to increased class sizes, please understand that teachers do not have the capacity to reach out after every missing assignment. However, a parent/teacher meeting may need to be arranged if a student is frequently missing homework.
  • Parent Note: If there is a valid explanation for why homework was not completed, please send a signed note or email. Work should be turned in by the end of the week.
  • Absences: It is up to teacher discretion to provide homework in advance for absences. In general, students should come to the teacher first thing in the morning when returning from an absence. For longer absences (5-10 days), the district will provide a district-created independent study packet. Please avoid absences during CAASPP testing weeks (TBA, mid-April to mid-May).
