🥾 Parent Meeting  on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 

Very important for at least one parent to attend if possible. No students need to attend.

• meeting is 6-7 p.m. in the Kennedy MU

• we will go over information about the trip, questions will be answered

• hard copy medical packets will be passed out and discussed at this meeting

• payment information will be discussed

FEES Deadline: Friday, October 3, 2025

🥾 $1190 fee is due

• Please make the full payment through the online payment link that was included in the original ParentSquare email sent September of 2025

• Or a check for the full amount can be made out to CUSD and dropped off in the KMS office. The child's first and last name, student ID number and Yosemite should be indicated in the memo of the check. A paper receipt will be given to you when the check is dropped off. 

• You may also set up a payment plan with Kennedy. There are a variety of plans. Families would pay with a personal check and deliver them to the Kennedy office, with due dates for each payment. Please contact Thea to set up a payment plan. dalvand_thea@cusdk8.org.

• If you have any questions/concerns/issues about payment or more financial assistance is needed, please reach out. All students who want to participate will be included in the trip regardless of the ability to pay, but also be aware that if sufficient funds are not raised to send all of the students signed up for the trip, the trip will have to be canceled for all of the students.

October/November

🥾 Complete medical packets and return to the student's Science teacher at Kennedy

• see the medical packet page on the website for more information about each of these papers

• all of the forms in this packet require a doctor's signature — please take care of this early, as most doctors require several weeks to complete the papers

• All packets need to be returned, even packets for students who do not have any medications

• if there are no medications, parents should draw a diagonal line line through each page and  have your child return the packet to their science teacher, no signatures are needed if there are no medications 

• if your child already has medical papers in the nurse's office, they can be used for this trip. If this is the case, write a note on the packet "use paperwork in nurse's office" and have your child return the medical packet to their science teacher

• ALL PACKETS MUST BE RETURNED BY THE DUE DATE

• DUE DATE: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2025 

• please do not drop the packets off in the office

• first review (signatures etc.) of medical packets by the trip coordinator will happen as packets are turned in

• if changes need to be made  at the time, they will be returned immediately

• second review-packets will be given to the Yosemite nurse  team for accuracy and  a medical review

• medical changes will be communicated with parents through the nurse team

• It is very important that these forms are completed accurately and turned in on time!

🥾 Late November — NatureBridge Registration Form — this is a mandatory online form, and a link to this form will be shared with parents in late November. Parents will have 2 weeks to complete and submit this form.

December

• 🥾 Students will choose cabin mates at school during the month

January 2025

🥾 Parents and doctors make corrections/additions to the medical packets and return them to the science teacher within as soon as possible.

🥾 Med bags sent home with students who require medications for the trip 6 weeks before departure date.

• Families should start to look at clothing and equipment list

•  Student Meeting — Wednesday, January 21, 2026 8:00-9:15 am in the MU

• -Only students going on the trip need to attend this meeting

February/March

🥾 Students will meet with their chaperone and hiking Group one time at lunch February 9-12  or February  23-26

🥾 Students to wear hiking boots/sturdy walking shoes to school Dates — February 2-6, and February 9-12.

🥾 Medications due in Kennedy Office —4 weeks before departure date

🥾 Departure: Monday, March 2, 2026  Between 9:00-10:00 am

🥾 Return: Friday, March 6, 2025  between 5-6 p.m.
