Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are collecting all borrowed devices on Wednesday, June 9th so that you have access to your classroom Google Meets through the last day of school. The return of all borrowed devices should include your iPad or Chromebook, the accompanying charger, and any HotSpots that were borrowed.

For iPads that are being returned, please ensure that you have:

  • Logged out from iCloud, iTunes and the App Store

  • Remove any passcodes

We have assigned collection times to help manage all the hardware that will be returned. All devices must be returned on June 9th. Items that are missing or damaged will be charged a replacement fee.

K-1st grade: 9:00 - 10:00 am

2nd-3rd grades: 10:00 - 11:00 am

4th-5th grades: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Please do not return any devices with your textbook materials since we need to verify and evaluate their condition separately.

Reminders for Families of In-Person Learners

Please remember that our parking lot is for staff only. Do NOT park in the parking lot. You are welcome to park in the neighborhood if you would like to walk your child onto campus. Or, if you prefer to stay in your car, you may use the drive through drop off/pick up line for students in grades 1 - 5.

If you are walking on to campus to drop off or pick up your child, stay on the sidewalk and wait in the Parent Waiting Zone. For everyone’s safety, do not walk through or gather in the parking lot.

ParentSquare

Last month, you received an invitation to ParentSquare, a new communication platform. If you would like to take advantage of the special features ParentSquare has to offer, such as text messaging and automatic translation (supporting 50 languages), activate your ParentSquare account now. If you are not interested in setting up a ParentSquare account at this time, you will still receive emails from the District and our school. No action is required.

To activate your account, look for an email from “ParentSquare” (subject: “Faria Elementary School invites you to join ParentSquare”) sent on March 9, 2021.

Information for Current 5th Graders

Our CUSD middle schools are welcoming students and families for next year, 2021-22. You are not required to take any action to matriculate to your neighborhood middle school. Your child will continue to use his/her student id (lunch number), and you will continue to use ParentVue. There are recommended parent information videos and slides for you to review to understand more about your middle school. In April, the middle school counselors will host virtual meetings for 5th grade students to share more information with them and answer their questions. Please take some time before April to review your middle school’s information and the processes to select electives. All the information can be found at our Faria Website: Middle School Information for Current 5th Graders

As you have been a part of the alternative school choice programs, you are aware that you can choose to attend a school other than your neighborhood (attendance area) middle school. If you wish to apply to open enroll in another middle school, you will need to complete the open enrollment from no later than 4:00 p.m. February 10th. Please read all the details on this district web page.
