Attendance
Aliso ExLP is an ELO-P & ASES state funded program.
Funding for Aliso ExLP is generated by attendance.
Aliso ExLP receives ASES funds based on the number of students who attend the required three hours each day, and follow the CUSD Early Release Policy.
To maintain the ASES funding and a high quality of program, it is expected that all enrolled participants follow the ASES attendance policy and CUSD Early Release Policy by enrolled students attending ExLP daily.
The After School Education and Safety (ASES) grant sets a strict attendance policy for all state funded programs.
ASES California Education Code:
The purpose of before and after school programs are to support student success in school by providing academic support and enrichment opportunities. The legislature determined that regular attendance in the afterschool program would serve as the measure for demonstrating program success (EC Section 8483.7[a][1][A]).
The EC states that it is the intent of the Legislature that elementary school students participate in the full day of the program every day in which students participate (EC Section 8483[a][2]).
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) funding allows ExLP to offer a variety of opportunities for ALL Aliso students to participate in ExLP Enrichment Classes throughout the school year.
-Daily Attendance is preferred, Monday-Friday
ExLP is NOT a “babysitting” or “child care” service, and is viewed as an expansion of the school day.
