2022 - Hip Hop Shakespeare
This year, we decided to take Curwen on an different path and incorporate Hip Hop beat alongside Shakespeare's infamous iambic pentameter. We took inspiration from The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company (headed by Akala) and created a music video for one of William Shakespeare's sonnets.
2020 - Macbeth on Film
Due to the pandemic, Curwen Primary school embarked on performing a familiar Shakespeare play using the medium of film instead of stage. Mr Ashcroft and Miss Carter, along with years 5 and 6 recreated the world of Macbeth inside the school grounds. Along with social distancing and class bubbles to contend with, we can all agree they did a fantastic job!
2018 - Macbeth on Stage
The 2018 Curwen cast members performed our rendition of Shakespeare;'s most imfamous play: Macbeth. We were lucky enough to perform this play at Stratford Circus Theatre, live to a paying audience in an evening of celebrating Shakespeare.
Directed by Mrs Clements and Miss Carter, our theme was heavily influenced by WW2: blackouts, sirens, candles, old radios and soldiers.
Curwen Primary School are so proud of the hard work and professional commitment brought by all the cast in this fabulous production,

Mrs Clements's want to congratulate all that were involved into making this such production such a huge success!
