Championship Tournament Feb 7-8-9 hosted by the Fairbanks Curling Club
Compete for a chance to represent your Fairbanks Curling Club in the Alaska Challenge Cup against the Anchorage Curling Club.
Two mens teams, Two womens teams and One Mixed Doubles team will represent the Fairbanks Club. Similar teams will play for Anchorage.
Fairbanks Men play against the Anchorage Men twice.
Fairbanks Women play against the Anchorage Women twice.
Mixed Doubles play three games against each other.
Out of the 19 total games played, the club with the more wins will win the Challenge Cup for their club.
The Qualifying Tournament in Fairbanks and Anchorage will be December 7-8.
The Championship Tournament will be played in Fairbanks this year on Feb 8-9 (Super Bowl Sunday will be the final 9 games)
Team members must be a full member of their respective club to play in the club qualifying tournament. You must play in your club of "home residency." This is the same rule used for the USCA Club Championships. Teams may sign up more than four players.
It is expected that team members are willing to play in both the qualifying tournament and the championship tournament. If a team member can not play in the championship tournament after qualifying, a replacement player may be chosen from a team that played in the qualifying tournament but did not qualify.
Talkeetna is allowed to play off in Fairbanks. If Talkeetna wins a spot they will be playing for the Fairbanks Curling Club as a guest member for the Challenge Cup Championship. Palmer and Homer curling clubs may play off in the Anchorage Qualifying Tournament. If one of those teams earn a spot, they will be playing for the Anchorage Curling Club as a guest member for the Challenge Cup Championship.
Anchorage and Fairbanks are not required to use the same rules and tournament format for their qualifying tournament.
