Celia Dean
The Cumberland School Volunteers is pleased to announce Celia Dean was selected as the recipient of the 2025 Community Service Award. Celia volunteered over 600 hours, teaching young dancers at her dance studio, learning to be a leader who fosters a positive and comfortable environment for students. Celia has volunteered over 100 hours tutoring middle school students in Spanish and Math, developing an appreciation for the importance of adaptability when working with students of so many different backgrounds and learning styles. She has also volunteered at the Miriam Hospital, the food pantry, and some of the elementary schools.
Celia wrote that "community service is not just about completing tasks, but it's about the relationships I build, the people I inspire, and the lessons I learn along the way."
Congratulations, Celia Dean, and best of luck in your future endeavors.
STUDENT SERVICE LEARNING
As part of the educational program offered at Cumberland High School, all students are required to complete servicing learning hours. Quality service learning provides students with knowledge, skills and experiences that lead to personal growth and effective citizenship. In an effort to create a greater awareness of service learning opportunities in the Cumberland community, the Cumberland School Volunteers (CSV) is asking for your assistance.
