 The Cumberland School Volunteers, a 501c3 non-profit, was established to support and promote volunteerism in an effort to build strong connections among the schools, educators, parents and community. 

News & Recent Events

Thank you to Rep. Mia Ackerman for securing a grant to support the Reading Is Fundamental program. This grant helped support the free distribution of over 6,000 new books to Preschool-5 students in Cumberland.

Thank you to Hunter Insurance for its recent donation to the Cumberland School Volunteers. The funds will be used to support both the Reading Is Fundamental program and the Just Friends, 4th grade disability awareness program.

2023 CUMBERLAND SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS SERVICE AWARD

Catherine Galgay

The Cumberland School Volunteers is pleased to announce Catherine Galgay was selected as the recipient of the 2023 Community Service Award. Catherine volunteered over 250 hours, tutoring students in Math and Spanish, volunteering at the Senior Center and taking part in several Student Government activities, such as Turkey Drives and Adopt-a-Family. She has volunteered in many different ways to support the youth in our community. Congratulations, Catherine, and best of luck in your future endeavors.
