If you are applying to college, serious planning needs to start sooner rather than later. Students and parents need to consider the type of school, cost, and location when considering where to apply. After your initial research, look at the schools on your prospective college list.
Your final list should include at least one school you know you can get into and afford, a few schools you have a high likelihood of getting into, and one or two schools that would be a reach for you. Remember, this is the fun part.
The beginning of the school year can be busy, so we are seeking additional information from you proactively. If you are applying to a 4-year college next year, you will most likely need a letter of recommendation from your school counselor and a teacher.
***It is important that you get the below Brag Sheets to your counselor at least two weeks before your first college deadline to ensure we have enough time and information to prepare your letter.
Complete the School Counselor Senior Questionnaire, so we have the information needed to prepare a letter of recommendation for you.
Consider having your parent(s) and/or guardian complete a Parent Brag Sheet and email it to your school counselor. This form will help us write a letter of recommendation for you.
Contact a teacher about writing a college recommendation for you. The "Brag Sheet" can give your recommender more insight into who you are inside and outside of school. Most colleges only require one academic teacher. Only ask a second teacher if necessary.
Research and build a list of potential colleges, vocational, and/or technical options.
