Working with Projects in Online and Face-to-face Lessons
Abstract
During this session, I’ll show my audience that it is always possible to improve our project proposals, and maybe they will realize that they can go beyond the idea of making posters or slide presentations with the most appropriate tools for online and face-to-face lessons. I'll talk about the importance of offering and developing remarkable project ideas so students feel more engaged, develop different life skills, expand their knowledge, and most importantly, make use of L2. Most of the ideas for designing a high-quality project are based on PBL principles which can be adapted according to each teacher's reality. Working on projects is challenging but rewarding, once we are capable of providing students with good-quality questions and support. It requires that we as teachers open our minds and see it as an opportunity to vary how students learn and see the world. Besides, enhancing students' abilities, and language practice and spark their curiosity to explore the world, and reconnect as a community.

Learning and Growing from Reflective Practice
Abstract
It’s said that as teachers we should be constantly reflecting on our practices, collecting evidence of learning and revisiting and expanding our knowledge. But, is it that easy to keep our minds sharp in order to do so? Reflective teaching can go beyond identifying areas for professional development or honing our skills, it might well be seen as a valuable and life-saving practice. I’ll share and demonstrate how it can positively impact our teaching practice and students’ outcomes. I’ll also delineate useful frameworks, and reflection questions as well as draw on the advantages of building a reflective ecosystem which is aligned with our own learning and teaching views.

Teaching the Pronunciation of English Vowels: digital and analogic tools to enhance the use of sound charts
Abstract
This presentation aims at making use of the colour vowel chart (Taylor, Thompson, 2020) to enhance the benefits of using sound charts (Underhill, 2004) to teach the pronunciation of English vowels. It intends to do so by presenting how the incorporation of features from both resources in a slides presentation and/or in paper slips and worksheets may benefit students both in face-to-face and remote classrooms. In addition, this presentation hopes to demonstrate that including such techniques as classroom routines may help teachers to feel (more) confident in using sound charts as well as students (more) at ease to develop their pronunciation using such materials.
