Coaching and therapy both offer support—but they serve different purposes and focus on different kinds of work.
Coaching is a forward-focused, collaborative process designed to support clarity, self-trust, and intentional action. In coaching, the focus is on where you are now, where you want to go, and how to move forward in a way that feels steady and aligned.
Coaching with Cultivating Confidence centers on:
Self-awareness and identity
Rebuilding confidence after burnout, caregiving, or loss
Gentle consistency and follow-through
Accountability that feels supportive, not pressuring
Making choices that align with your values and capacity
Therapy, on the other hand, focuses on mental health treatment. It may involve diagnosis, clinical assessment, trauma processing, or addressing symptoms related to mental health conditions.
While this coaching work is informed by years of experience supporting growth and development, Cultivating Confidence is not therapy and does not provide mental health treatment, diagnosis, or crisis support.
Many people find coaching helpful when they feel ready to move forward, even if things still feel tender or unclear. Therapy and coaching can also complement each other—some clients choose to engage in both, each serving a different role.
If you’re unsure which type of support is right for you, that’s okay. Exploring that question together is often the first step toward choosing what best fits your needs right now.
Cultivating Confidence offers coaching services only. Coaching is not therapy and does not provide mental health diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support.
