The Flannel Brothers were originally formed in October of 2015, and kicked off their first performance at Tin Bins in Stillwater, MN in January of 2016. The band has an incredible following that has had them performing LIVE at restaurants, wineries, breweries, paddle boats, bars, private parties and more ever since.
The Flannel Brothers are almost guaranteed to bring 10% more joy to your day, night and life than if you had not attended one of their shows (we believe this to be a scientific fact... but studies are still confirming this information).
They do this through three part harmonies, guitars, mandolins, percussion and infectious grooves and performances that you will both FEEL and REMEMBER!! The only thing that will change from show to show is how many more friends and family that you bring to the next show vs. the previous. Visit their Show Schedule page today, and add any or all of their shows to your calendar, and be sure to visit their FACEBOOK page to keep up to date on "all that is Flannel".
Mike is a founding member of the band, plays both guitar and mandolin, and sings both lead and harmony vocals.
Mike early days in music started back in college, where he wrote the score and lyrics for an original musical production at Saint Mary’s College in 1983. He performed mostly in later years in various cover bands and solo and duo live music groups. Among other notable accomplishments was the 2008-2009 writing and recording of an original music album with his recording group Union Pier Freshwater Reggae. The idea for the Flannel Brothers came to Mike after viewing various small group musicians and enjoying the raw and down to earth sounds of blended vocals in Americana Music Group style.
The Flannel Brothers also have been known to do an original tune here and there, and Mike has certainly been an important part of the writing and inspiration for those pieces.
Today's random fact... Our percussionist and vocal extraordinaire could beat-up your percussionist...
I mean he wouldn't, but ours is a BLACK BELT. 🥋
In addition to enjoying martial arts and motorcycles, Paul is also a founding member of the Flannel Brothers. He has been connected with the LIVE music scene since the age of 19 while growing up in the river valley area of Mankato. In 1984 he was nominated for the Irene Ryan Award for acting as lead roll in an original rock musical at MSU, in association with the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts.
Paul continued his passion for music and has played in a multitude of bands of varying musical genres in many popular venues throughout the midwest. He also has done studio recording and has had the opportunity to warm up some national acts.
Paul met Mike Bruno in 2008. They had played together in side projects before forming the Flannel Brothers in 2016. Paul also had the distinct honor of laying down vocal tracks with Mike’s band, Union Pier.
Aside from all this, what Paul loves most is playing open jams with other musicians and friends. Paul says it’s all about creating an atmosphere of joy!
David grew up in Stillwater, MN and has recently moved to Woodbury with his freakishly awesome wife, Dina.
David and Dina have 3 kids, 4 grandkids, and a princess of a dog named Squirrel. David is a HUGE fan of local LIVE music, and has been playing in local bands and sitting in with other musicians for years... And as of December of 2024 he's just excited about becoming one of the "Brothers".
