Assignment: Rigged Walk Cycle & Jump Cycle
Learning Target
- Animate a Character's walk cycle using rigging techniques (Forward Kinematics or Inverse Kinematics)
Success Criteria
- Know the main poses of walk cycle & jump cycle
- Create layers and apply naming system for body parts
- Use child-parent relationships to create a hierarchy
- Use pegs to group layers together.
- Insert Key Frames for each pose

2. Wednesday
Introduction to Passport Discovery Project (Lip Sync / Rigging)
Learning Target
- Students will learn the process of creating a scripted speech to be recorded and apply lip syncing technology with photos and animations.
- Success Criteria
- Research the given city for 5 landmarks and photos.
- Write a speech using the template provided and record.
- Create a Rigged Character (Apply naming conventions to layers)
- Choose 1 of 3 tools to rig/animate
- Use the X-sheet to name drawings
- Apply lip-sync function in Harmony with voice clip
- Animate the timing of photos, text and character with to match speech
2. Thursday
Introduction to Lip-Syncing (Mouth Chart and Voice Clips)
Learning Target:
- Students will learn and apply lip syncing effects to an animated character.
Success Criteria:
- Use the mouth chart to recreate mouth drawings for a character
- Learn how to use the X-sheet panel to name mouth drawings
- Insert sounds clips and understand the editing process of audio.
- Apply the lip-sync setting inside Harmony to sync audio and mouth drawings.
