Introduction to Frame by Frame Walk Cycle.

  • Students follow along with presentation
  • Students will understand the 8 different walk cycle poses
  • Students will recreate Walk Cycle Version 1 & 2
    • Walk Cycle Version 1
      • Character Walking in Place (Peg Motion Tween)
    • Walk Cycle Version 2
      • Character walking in Place (Moving Background)
    • Turn into Google Classroom

2. Tuesday

Intro to Character Rigging (Rigging with Forward Kinematics)

  • Students follow along with presentation and set up layers in a harmony document that will rig a character.

Learning Target

  • Animate a Character's walk cycle using rigging techniques.

Success Criteria

  • Know the main walk cycle poses
  • Create layers and apply naming system for body parts
  • Use child-parent relationships to create a hierarchy
  • Use pegs to group layers together.

3. Wednesday

Introduction to Inverse Kinematics Tool (Rigging with IK)

  • Students follow along with presentation about the the Inverse Kinematic Tool
  • Practice using the IK tool in Harmony
  • Create a Walk Cycle using either Inverse Kinematics or Forward Kinematics.
  • Turn into Google Classroom
  • Add to portfolio website

Introduction to Deformation (rigging tool)

  • Students learn the different modes of the deformation tool, place and manipulate bones.
