Within the session series, the NSTP students will be able to:
illustrate doable ways on how to follow CTU’s Health Protocol and Guidelines;
demonstrate understanding of the role of the students in the realization of the CTU VMGO statements in the new normal; and to
craft personal commitment as NSTP students in the attainment of the university’s VMGO, accentuating NSTP goals.

Vision of the University : CTU as a premier, inclusive, globally-recognized research and innovation, smart, community-responsive, and sustainable technological university
Mission of the University : The University shall primarily provide leading-edge degree programs, innovative professional, entrepreneurial, and technical instruction as well as research and extension programs that address both the needs of the region and the nation in the context of the global knowledge economy, Fourth Industrial Revolution, and sustainability.
Goals of the University : By the end of 2024, CTU will be globally recognized for its quality. Specifically, it will:
• Obtain a Philippine university system status with a CHED SUC Level V recognition or equivalent;
• Be ranked among the Top 10 Universities in the Philippines;
• Be included in the list of internationally recognized ranking of universities (including Quacquarelli Symonds, Times Higher Education, Shanghai University Ranking, World University Impact Rankings);
• Pursue efforts to pave way for the development of new programs (including natural sciences and Doctor of Medicine) and Transnational Higher Education;
• Achieve world-class performance and excellence in total quality management; and
• Lead innovations in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Goals of the Department : Recognize the youth’s vital role in nation building, the state shall promote civic consciousness among the youth and shall develop their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism, nationalism and advance their involvement on public and civic affairs.
Program Outcomes : National Service Training Program (NSTP) aims at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of services and patriotism while undergoing training in any of the components.
Course Description:
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) is aimed at enhancing students’ knowledge & skills necessary to develop civic programs and projects contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life for the members of the community or the enhancement of its facilities, anchored on the dimensions of development guided by the acronym S.E.R.V.I.C.E. namely: Safety & security, Environmental Awareness and Protection, Recreation, Values formation on good citizenship & moral recovery, Industry & entrepreneurship, Care for health including nutrition, and Education and the Global Goals for Sustainable Development thereby empowering them to become potent resources contributory for community welfare.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Within the semester, the NSTP students are expected to:
1 identify the significance of NSTP Act of 2001 or R.A. 9163 & its implementing rules & regulations as a program and CWTS as a component;
2. apply relevant information, know-how, life-skills and values pertaining to the various dimensions of development;
3. analyze the meaning of good citizenship and leadership values necessary for involvement and social mobilization for community development;
4. display the spirit of volunteerism as good servant and as potentials youth leader who will spur development in underserved communities; and to
5. design programs, projects and activities, initially, within the school in preparation for immersion to the adopted communities.
