Although CT Tutoring Center is a learning Center, we still have basic rules and regulations that we request our parents and students respect and follow. The following rules are not designed to restrict students unduly but to form the basis of responsible action:
1. Students attend CT for educational purposes only. Any disruption to another learner’s education will result in removal from the venue, and the student may only return in the following lesson.
2. Regular attendance is required at all tutoring sessions. Students acknowledge that failure to attend consistently may result in poor academic performance, incomplete work, or failure throughout the academic year, for which they will be held responsible.
3. Extra activities and excursions are designed to motivate and inspire learners. Students are expected to engage fully in these events, showing the same commitment and focus as they do during regular tutoring sessions.
4. Students are required to bring their textbooks to the center each day, as tutoring cannot take place effectively without the curriculum materials. Textbooks must be kept neat, tidy, and presentable. If a student loses a textbook, it must be replaced by the student's parents or guardians.
5. Each student plays a crucial role in maintaining a respectful and safe learning environment. We ask all our students to respect themselves, their peers, and their tutors, and this respect will be reciprocated. Ignoring a tutor's instruction is also a form of disrespect.
6. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying. Any form of bullying is unacceptable and will result in immediate disciplinary action. We are committed to providing a secure and protected environment for all our students.
7. Zero-tolerance policy for any form of racism or discriminatory behaviour. Any student found engaging in racial remarks, actions, or conduct that discriminates against others will face immediate disciplinary action. We are committed to maintaining an inclusive and respectful environment for all learners.
8. Please refrain from using inappropriate language at the center. Vulgar language will result in unpleasant hot spice/sauce/chilli for the student to eat.
9. Please refrain from engaging in inappropriate activities on the center property. Any behaviour deemed unacceptable by the tutors will result in immediate disciplinary measures being taken.
10. There is no uniform required to be worn at the center. We do ask that students dress comfortably and appropriately. CT shirts may be worn, but are not compulsory for classes. However, they will be mandatory for all events, excursions, and trips that we participate in, so each student must have at least one. These can be ordered directly from the center.
11. All electronic devices brought to the center are brought at the owner's own risk. The center will not be liable for any loss or damage.
12. Cell phones have a dedicated spot in the cell phone tray, where they are protected and secured in a locked cupboard and given out by tutors at home time. If a learner is found with a cell phone after 8 am, it will be confiscated for the night. If confiscated on a Friday, it will be returned on Monday afternoon. If a learner fails to hand in their phone after telling a tutor, 'It was left at home,' a disciplinary procedure will be initiated, and the phone will be returned only after a meeting with the student and their parents.
13. Laptops are to be used strictly for educational purposes during tutoring hours. Any use for non-educational activities, including accessing social media, is not permitted. If a laptop is misused, it may be confiscated for the remainder of the day, and further disciplinary action may follow.
14. Toys or other distracting items may not be brought to the center. If a student is found with such an item, it will be confiscated for the remainder of the day, and further disciplinary action may follow.
15. Please do not litter on or around the center property. Littering is considered a minor offence.
16. For security purposes, students are only allowed to leave the center property once the tutoring time is over or if they have obtained permission to do so from the center and their parents.
17. Please do not damage center property or any property that belongs to someone else. Students will be liable for paying to repair or replace the damaged property.
18. As part of our efforts to promote healthy habits, we do not permit students to bring energy drinks and cans to the center, as they contain excessive sugar and caffeine.
19. If a student is suspected of being intoxicated, they will be asked to leave, and immediate disciplinary measures will be followed.
20. Alcohol consumption is prohibited on the center property. If a student is found with alcohol, it will be confiscated, and immediate disciplinary measures will be followed.
21. Smoking is not permitted on the center property, as we strive to maintain a safe and clean environment for learners of all ages. If a smoking-related item must be brought onto the property for any reason, a parent must complete a formal permission document beforehand. The item must then be handed in on arrival and will only be returned at home time. If a student is found in possession of a smoking apparatus without prior approval, it will be confiscated, and immediate disciplinary action will follow.
22. Drugs or Narcotics of any form are prohibited on the center property. If a student is found with it, the item will be confiscated, and immediate disciplinary measures will be taken.
23. Weapons of all sorts are prohibited. If a student is found with it, the item will be confiscated, and immediate disciplinary measures will be taken.
24. Students are not permitted to contact tutors on any social media platform. This includes past tutors. Only communication allowed after tutoring hours is via Google Classroom chat box or the designated CT email addresses.
25. CT has official Facebook and Instagram pages where we share photos from excursions and fun activities. This helps keep parents connected, informed, and included in their child's learning journey.
CT Tutoring Center utilises a level system to manage discipline. This applies to minor issues; serious issues will result in an immediate final Level 3.
1st level: a verbal warning is issued to students; after three, we proceed to Level 2.
2nd level: students are to attend a detention session on a specified date; parents will be notified in advance.
• 1 Hour- minor offences
• 2 Hours- moderate offences
• 3 Hours- major offences.
After committing three major offences, the learner will be presented with a third-level penalty.
3rd Level: written warning to students and parents. After 3, the learner will be asked to leave the center.
I, a student of CT Tutoring Center, understand the rules mentioned above and acknowledge that if they are broken, it may lead to disciplinary steps, which may include those outlined in this document.
