INTERCOLLEGIATE MIME FEST

Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for  Women and Green Mass Academy of Arts celebrated Intercollegiate mime festival on 18.03.2023. Students from many colleges participated in this event.  Artistic director, (Proscenium theatre and creative solutions) Mr. Jaya Krishnan judged the mime competition and selected the winners. Dean of Students Mrs. Anuradha, HOD, Department of Chemistry, IQAC Co-ordinator Mrs. Mary Catherine HOD, Department of Computer Science gave the welcome address. All the students enjoyed the performance. DG Vaishnav college students won first prize, Loyola college second prize and  CTTE College for women , Tamil Nadu open university third prize.

KALAKIRAN MIME

Date: February 17 & 18,  2023

Venue: JJK Auditorium

Timing: 12 pm to 1 pm

The drama club celebrated “Kalakiran” on 17th February 2023 to unearth the talents of the studnets. All the faculty members and students were requested to come in traditional attire of their choice for the celebration of Kalakiran in our college.

The event was organized by the drama club. The theme of the mime was “Human trafficking” - about how girls are manipulated and are sold without their knowledge, they are betrayed by their own people whom they blindly believed. 

Our students enthusiastically participated and exhibited the theme with great level of creativity. The number of teams participated were 5 teams. Each team had its unique way of exhibiting the creative levels. It turned out to be a day which amazingly displayed the array of colors and reflected the social issues of India. It amused the audience and created in them a sense of awareness. The program was a grand success with the love and support of all the students and faculty members. 

MAKKAL TV – PONGAL CELEBRATON

Date: December 26,  2022

Venue: JJK Auditorium

Timing: 9 am to 1 pm

The skit was organized by the drama club and it was broadcast on “Makkal TV”. The skit was based on the life of farmers - how they sacrifice their lives for the survival of millions of people around the globe. The struggle that they go through over the years for cultivating millets or a rice despite of all the odds such as drought and other natural disasters is remarkable. People underestimate the profession of farming and devalue it saying farming will not fetch anything in future. The significance of farming and farmers were beautifully portrayed in the skit with lots of dedication and hard work from the students.

DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMME

Drugs have become a menace in the city. It is heartening to note that the police department has intensively begun to spread awareness and caution the students by conducting drug awareness programmes. The City Police of the Pulianthope District conducted an awareness against drug addiction for about 200 school students. Additional Commissioner of Police (North) Thiru. T S Anbu IPS, presided over the programme that was conducted in collaboration with Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College (CTTE College) in their campus in Sembium, Perambur, on December 17, 2022. 

The students of Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College performed a skit that aimed at creating awareness about drug usage. Thiru. I. Eswaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pulianthope District welcomed the gathering and Thiru. Tamilvanan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, MKB Nagar Range proposed the vote of thanks. The event was compered by the students of CTTE College.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Date: August 15,2022

Venue: lawn

Timing: 9:30 am to 12:30 am 

The drama club celebrated “Independence day” on 15th august 2022 to mark the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. All the faculty members and students were requested to come in traditional attire of their choice for the celebration of Independence day in our college. 

The event was organized by the event management club. The theme of the drama was “sacrifices of the Indian soldiers” how they contributed to our nation and sacrificed their life for the independence of our country.
