The Departments of Computer Science & Applications in association with Four Steps Training Solutions have organised a One Day Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Using Python & Machine Learning on 29, February 2020. It was a tribute to Honorable Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam to fulfill the dream of Vision 2020. Around 1 lakh students were given training on AI & ML using Python. Our college was a part to achieve this attempt of ASIA BOOK OF RECORDS.

The Departments of Computer Science & Computer Applications organized an International Seminar on “Emerging IOT Trends” on February 26, 2020. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr.Jai Karthik pre-sales System Engineer, Cisco Systems, Greater Boston, USA. He gave an excellent coverage on Traditional fields of embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, control systems, automation (including home and building automation), and he added IOT technology is most synonymous with products pertaining to the concept of the "smart home", covering devices and appliances (such as lighting fixtures, thermostats, home security systems and cameras, and other home appliances) that support one or more common ecosystems, and can be controlled via devices associated with that ecosystem, such as smart phones and smart speakers.. Nearly 250 students along with the staff of department of Computer Applications & department of Computer Science attended the Seminar.

The Department of Sciences organized a Career guidance Programme for the students of Sciences on 03, March 2020. Dr .Jaya Prakash Gandhi, Career Consultant and Analyst, Chennai was the Resource person. He motivated students to undertake Interdisciplinary courses. He focused on the current needs in areas like AI in healthcare, sensor fusion, robotic process automation & python, digital marketing, machine learning, deep learning and data analytics in healthcare. He also encouraged students to learn Japanese language.
The Department of Computer Applications has made an MOU for the course Android Applications with ALB multimedia located at Thiruvalluvar Salai, Mogappair East Chennai. Around 26 students joined this course and cleared the exam. Mr. S.Saravanaprabhu, Manager ALB Multimedia was the tutor for this course.
CTTE College for Women had hosted “Cloud Literacy Day” on 25/10/2018 organized by the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu in association with AMAZON WEB SERVICES. The students underwent a series of challenges and earned “Cloud Inventor” badges. The College has been awarded Cloud literacy campus award in the Institution category by AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) on 26/02/2020 for the same. Dr. Sudha Srikanth Won Cloud Champion Award in Cloud Literacy in the Coordinator category by (AMAZON WEB SERVICES).
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
The 71st Republic Day of India was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervor at Chevalier T.Thomas Elizabeth College for women, Chennai-11 amidst the foggy morning of 26th January, 2020. The ceremony took place in the presence of Dr.Hanifa Ghosh, Principal, HoDs of various departments, staff members and students.

The Departments of Computer Applications organized a Seminar on “Internet of Things” on January 22, 2020. The Resource Person of the day was Dr. Shanthini, Professor and Head, Department of IT at St.Peter's University, Chennai, She gave an excellent coverage on Internet of Things and gave examples of objects that can fall into the scope of Internet of Things include connected security systems, thermostats, cars, electronic appliances, lights in household and commercial environments, alarm clocks, speaker systems, vending machines and more. Nearly 200 students attended the Seminar.
The Department of Computer Science & Applications in association with Institution Innovation Council (IIC), Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women conducted an Internal Smart India Hackathon 2020 on January 22,2020. Mr. V.J. Saravanan, CEO, Four Steps Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was the Jury Member of the Internal Hackathon. Various Teams of students with their Ideas and Problem Statements were presented and the selection of teams was done based on their creativity in Solutions to Problem Statements and overall presentation.

The Resource Person of the day was Dr.C.V.Sureshbabu, Professor and Head, Department of IT at Hindustan University, Chennai, He gave an excellent coverage on Social Networking. Nearly 200 students attended the Seminar.
The Department of Computer Applications created awareness about Environmental Science & Social Issues by conducting various games, Street Play, Painting Competition at Athivakkam Govt. primary school students.

Around 10 students from the Department of Computer Applications, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth college for Women, Chennai-11 were selected for the Internship programme from 5th December, 2019 to 6th January, 2020.
The Department of Computer Applications, Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women conducted "Workshop on R Programming" on December, 3 2019 Dr. K.B. Priya Iyer, MCA, Ph.D., Assistant Controller of Examinations & Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai. The advanced learners from the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Computer Applications were the participants. Students had hands-on experience on the session. The students were involved in working with R Tool installed to their Individual systems. At the end of the session they gave a positive feedback. The certificates were distributed by Mrs. Rajalakshmi, Head, Department of Commerce & Dean of Academics, CTTE College for Women and by the Resource Person Dr. K.B. Priya Iyer. The workshop was conducted as two sessions. At the end of the day the students had a fruitful session which helped them to initiate their interest in R Programming, a need of the hour Statistical Tool nowadays.

On the occasion of Google classroom day on September 27th, 2019, the department of Computer Applications organized a Poster Designing competition on Traditional classroom vs Virtual Classroom for the students.

SEMINAR ON "E-SAFETY"
The Departments of Computer Science, Computer Applications and Consumer club organized an International Seminar on “E-Safety” on September 27, 2019. The Resource Person of the day was Dr. Chandrika Subramaniyan, Solicitor and Barrister Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia, Sydney, Australia. She gave an excellent coverage on E-Safety, Internet Safety, the knowledge of maximizing the user's personal safety, security risks on private information and property associated with using the internet, and the self-protection from computer crime. Nearly 200 students of CTTE College along with other college staff and students attended the Seminar.
An Industrial Visit has been arranged by the department to The Times of India, Sholinganallur on 20th September 2019. Around 53 students from III BCA have been benefited with the knowledge about Formatting, Editing, Color Printing of newspapers through a video and were taken to the automated publishing area to gain practical experience.
A Workshop on Angular was conducted on September 18, 2019, it is a JavaScript-based open-source front-end web framework mainly maintained by Google and by a community of individuals and corporations to address many of the challenges encountered in developing single-page applications and it was handled by Mr.Hemananth, Senior Associate, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Chennai.The students from III BCA, advanced learners from Department of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science were the participants. A Workshop Topic was Angular, Students actively participated and enthusiastically listened the session. Individual system was given to each student for practicing the workshop. The Whole session was conducted using ICT Tools, which aids them to practice easily. At the end of the session they gave a positive feedback. The certificates were distributed by Dr.Meenakshi, Vice Principal, CTTE College for Women and by the Resource person Mr.Hemananth, Senior Associate, Cognizant Technology Solutions.

The Workshop was conducted by the “E-reach club” on August 20, 2019. The students from Chennai Girls’ higher Secondary School, Chennai -11 were participated. The Workshop was handled by Mrs.C.Kalaivani, Assistant Professor, DeparExtment of Computer Applications. Students actively participated and enthusiastically listened to the session. Individual system was given to each student for practicing python. The Whole session was conducted using ICT Tools, which Aids them to practice easily. The Department of Computer Applications organized a Seminar on “Cloud computing” on August 19, 2019. The E-Reach club was formally inaugurated by R.Meenakshi, Vice Principal, C.T.T.E College. The Resource Person of the day was Dr.Rexline SJ, Associate Professor and Research Advisor, Department of Computer Science, Loyola College, Chennai. The speaker gave an excellent overview of Cloud Computing and the lecture focused on how cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage and computing power, without direct active management by the user. The term is generally used to describe data centers available to many users over the Internet.Nearly 150 students along with the staff of department of Computer Applications attended the Seminar.
