I am very excited to be the new library media specialist (lms) for Nonnewaug! Eight years previous to coming to NHS, I was the lms at Region 16's middle school, Long River, and prior to that taught high school social studies and special education. It was my love of reading and skills with integrating technology into my teaching that steered my toward becoming a librarian. We have a beautiful book collection that will continue to be updated, but the LMC is much more! I welcome students to the LMC for a variety of purposes: you can check out a book, create in the Makerspace, play a game of chess, collaborate with a group, or get help with your Chromebook. I can often be found in the library or classrooms teaching and facilitating inquiry and research skills. See you in the LMC!

This is my second year working in the Nonnewaug LMC. My favorite genres of books are historical and non-fiction reads. I have my BFA majoring in pottery. Being creative and expressing myself through creativity is very enjoyable to me. I'm married with two children, being a stay at home has been so fulfilling. Now that they are both in school coming to work at NHS has been another wonderful experience.

After our family's recent move from Florida, I was so happy to find a work home at NHS! As a military spouse, I have had the opportunity to live in half a dozen different states over the years. My major in English has allowed me to work as an editor at a travel magazine, a studio manager for a famous collage artist as well as a substitute teacher and soccer coach. I am always happy to help with finding a book to read, collecting research materials, or even with proofreading essays. I hope to meet you soon!
