8th grade

I am excited to be a part of your child’s 8th grade adventure! This is an exciting, fun year. In 8th grade, I really try to encourage more independence from resource. This will look different for each student.

There are a few things that I want to outline for you regarding your child’s transition to high school. It is amazing how soon you will begin filling out paperwork for high school!

  • You have to bring your child’s testing to the high school they will be attending. Christ the King cannot fax or send the testing paperwork over to the school.

  • We do not send accommodations forms to the high schools.

  • St. Michael’s has asked that you complete the application process before you bring in your child’s testing. Check “AEGIS” on the application if you are interested in your student receiving resource at St. Michael.

  • Read about St. Michael Aegis Program here: https://stmichaelchs.org/aegis-classes

  • If your student is attending a different high school, please check with that high school to see when they want the paperwork and what paperwork they need.

  • Your student’s testing should be current (within the last 3 years) before they enter high school. They cannot receive services in high school if their testing is expired. Please contact me if you would like to go over testing options. Start this process as soon as possible.

Please call the school or email me anytime. I am happy to set up a conference as well.
