Life cycles

We started our work on life cycles by observing tadpoles, planting some beans and discussing and diagramming the life cycle of birds.

Mammalian life cycles

We looked at placental, marsupial and monotreme lifecycles.

Amphibian and reptilian life cycles

We looked at our tadpoles and created a comic book illustrating their entire lives!

Frog life!

Our tadpoles are almost all grown up! They are now at the froglet stage and they will be released into our new pond very soon.

Forces

We are starting our topic on forces by learning about the force that is always pulling at us: Gravity!

We made predictions, observed an investigation and then wrote a conclusion.

Rubber band roller making and parachute drag investigation in the sun for National Science Week. We also tried out a new way of collecting and showing the data. It seemed to support our hypothesis - maybe we needed to do a few more runs to make sure!

We investigated levers and fulcrums. We adjusted the position and size of the fulcrum to try and get the best 'launch' that we possibly could.

Earth and Space

Year 5 are learning about the Earth and Space in Science. Have a look at some of the work they have been doing.

Solar System

Year 5 are learning about the Solar System. Have a look at some of the drawings they have been doing using Google Drawings.

Amazing drawing of the Solar System!
