Stop motion is a simple way to connect students and teachers to the content being taught creatively. It's also an opportunity to get students out of the classroom and bring them to a library, makerspace, or common area in school, which can unleash creativity and change class dynamics.

Stop motion videos

After reading a book or even a text in their books, sumarize the text, change the end, or even rewrite it by telling the story through the lens of a particular character.

Students make a paper 8 fold and sketch a storyboard. Then, magic happens, as students engage in the making of their videos.

FOR FACILITATORs - remember to encourage peer critique so that students can improve their work when they do a final version of the video or another one all together.

Materials:

Stands for stop motion - you can have fancy laser cut ones, or you can just make one.

Materials (legos, paper cutouts, beads, play dough, etc.), phones, or tablets.
