Game Room is a safe, supportive, positive and engaging place where students are free to play a wide variety of video games on our multiple PS5 and PS4 consoles, XBox One console, board games, on the air hockey table and two pool tables. Students have the opportunity to hang out with their friends and make new friends as well. Game Room strives to promote a welcoming, safe and positive environment for everyone.

Intramural Sports Club promotes student well-being through opportunities to learn about and practice balanced nutrition, physical activity and other healthy choices in an environment that supports a healthy lifestyle. This club is organized by the students, in which they play volleyball and badminton in the quad and is supervised by a Teaching Fellows tutor.
Goals:
Provide a welcoming, safe and positive environment for students to engage in physical activity after school. This environment also supports a healthy lifestyle for all our students.

Tutorial is a quiet place where students can come to receive additional support with their academics or even if students just need a quiet place to study or hang out. Additional academic support is available in a wide range of subjects.

Hiking Club will help students learn skills and behaviors to be prepared for a hike and to complete it safely. Students will learn about the Sequoia forests of California and students will learn about the role of fire in healthy forests and the causes of catastrophic wildfires. In addition, Hiking Club supports a healthy lifestyle for all our students.

Drama Club fosters, promotes and achieves: student engagement, creativity and practical skills that extend beyond the stage. 2025-2026 Production: "High School Musical" - rehearsals begin September 2025 and opening date of February 2026. The Drama Club also focuses on mastering theatrical disciplines such as: stagecraft, direction, performance, choreography and design.

Barista Club allows students to voice their ideas, while making meaningful contributions as to what beverages they would like to make in the club. Also, the beverages that will be made in this club will keep the students engaged and encourage them to actively work with others to make the recipe. This club helps students make healthy choices and encourages healthy behaviors by replicating popular drinks, but using healthier alternatives.

Cosmetology Club focuses on helping students build skills and tap into their creative side with makeup looks and all different kinds of products. Over the time period of this club, students will grow their knowledge of how to apply makeup, what types of products will benefit their skin, and the different types of applicators used. Students will be able to build the confidence to create complex makeup looks. Students will also be able to show their creativity and build leadership skills allowing them to lead and help others.
Goals:
Students leave on the final day having the confidence to do their own makeup.
Students will find leadership skills within themselves.
Students will take their knowledge of what they have learned and be able to use it on themselves or on others.

Dungeons and Dragons Club works towards making a creative and safe space for students to enjoy entering a virtual world that is focused on creativity and imagination. Through the world of virtual role-playing, students will be able to battle deadly foes, uncover secrets, find treasure, and make memories that last a lifetime.

Create a safe and creative space for all of our students.
Engage in activities focused on creativity and imagination, expanding a student's horizon and gaining new experiences.

Science and Mystery Club allows students to research various unsolved mysteries and paranormal topics, in addition to learning about science-based topics. This club is heavily discussion based, in which students are able to discuss what they had liked/disliked about the topic for the club's meeting. Students will also decide and vote on which age-appropriate topics will be covered in the club.

College Bound Club is a college-readiness club that helps mentor and guide college-aspiring students. In this club, students will receive all the tools necessary to successfully fill out their college applications, complete FAFSA, write their personal statement for college admission, get scholarships and much more.
Goals:
Prepare high school students with all the tools necessary to obtain college admission.
Help our students with the whole college admission process from start to finish.
Maintain high expectations for our students, while helping them master 21st century skills.

Cougar Academy offers FREE transportation to all students that attend the program. Students will be picked up at 4:45 PM at the staff parking lot, by the band room. All of the routes have been provided to us by MUHSD Transportation. If you don't see a route that works for you or your child, please contact Ms. Ibarra and I will work on adding the route to our list. Thank you!
