Alpha Elementary- Home of the Gators!
This virtual art lesson is a fun drawing activity with step by step instructions. Follow the steps below to create your very own Bart Simpson drawing.
White paper and pencil
Blue, yellow, and orange crayon
We will first begin with the eyes.
Draw a circle about as big as a quarter towards the upper middle right side of your paper.
Add another circle next to it leaving a small gap at the bottom. Make sure to leave the gap we will be needing it for the next step.
Next, we will draw the nose.
In between the small gap left from the eyes you will draw the nose.
Make sure you do not make the nose too big. Try to keep it smaller than the eyes.
Next, we will draw the mouth.
Draw a line coming down from the nose, and continue it to the left just beyond the left eye.
Finish it with a small horizontal line and the end.
For the ear, you will make a letter ‘C’ by the end of the mouth.
And add a leaning-backward letter ‘T’ inside.
For the chin, you will add a little wiggle starting from the midpoint (middle) of the mouth.
Draw a straight line coming down from the middle of the ear.
Next, add a straight line leaning back (to the left) going up from the ear.
Starting from the middle of the right eye, draw a little curve …
Then carry on up finishing a bit higher than the back of the head
Draw a zigzag line for the hair
The real Bart always has nine points!
Draw two big dots
Try putting them slightly to the left within the circle
Join up the two necklines with a curving line
Draw a straight line going down – about the same length as the horizontal neckline
Carry the line on curving out a bit and then going down again
Draw a capital ‘D’ with an inward curving line at the side
Try to make the curve of the ‘D’ about the same size as the circle of the left eye
For the second sleeve draw a fat sausage at the side of the straight part of Bart’s t-shirt
Begin with the right arm
First, draw two straight lines stopping just beyond Bart’s upper lip
Then add a thumb and three fingers
Now the Left arm.
Draw two straight lines
Add the thumb and three fingers
Finish the t-shirt sleeve
Draw a line curving gently out
Finish a bit higher than the bottom of the tummy line
Join up the two lines with a curved line
Draw a line starting just in from the back of the t-shirt
Line curves in then goes straight
Draw a line starting just in from the front of the t-shirt
Rounded line that curves back sharply then goes down a short way
Join the two lines up
Draw in the other shorts leg with three straight lines
Start with the left leg
Draw two straight lines going slightly to the left
Join them up
Do the same for the right leg
Draw long thin curvy sausages at the bottom of the legs
Draw a short straight line for the back of the shoes
Draw a curved line under the socks, carrying this line on a bit further to the right
Join up the shoes with a curved line
Add a long thin sausage to the bottom of each of the shoes
Add a small circle to Bart’s right shoe
You will need Yellow for the body, Orange for the shirt, and Blue for his shorts and shoes.
Remember to leave his eyes and socks White.
