Joining Forces to Improve Services – Conemaugh Township & Northern EMS

Conemaugh Township EMS Board of Directors, including three new board members previously on the Windber Fire Company/Northern EMS Board of Directors, are excited to announce that we have formally become one operational entity as of November 4, 2024.

First, we thank the management and staff of both services for their unwavering support in engaging in this tremendous opportunity for both services. Please see the enclosed letter regarding the partnership. That letter lists the various communities in our service area that will benefit by this collaboration.

We will be stabilizing services to the Northern EMS service area by keeping an Advanced Life Support ambulance at the building where the Scalp Level Fire Company is based on Main Street in Windber. We will have five (5) ambulances to cover our areas and standardized equipment. That generates additional cost on the front end, but we thank the Board of Directors of Windber Fire Company/Northern EMS for their high level of cooperation as we have figured out how to best meet the needs of our communities as we move into the future. Thanks again to our staff for their support and dedication through this transition.
